The ancient stadium, at the top of the majestic site of Apollo’s sanctuary in Delphi, was rebuilt during the Roman era. This is why there are stone steps instead of slopes from the Greek Classical era. French archaeologist Dominique Mulliez, director of the French School of Athens, shows us texts dedicated to the winners of the sports competitions, on the steps’ exterior buttresses.
