Site 9: British Cemetery Bayeux. Located near the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy, is the largest British cemetery in France. It includes the graves of 4648 soldiers fallen during the fighting, including 3,935 British, 181 Canadians, 17 Australians, 8 New Zealanders, 1 South African, but also 25 Polish, 3 French, 2 Czechs, 2 Italians, 7 Russians and 466 Germans. Opposite, stands the Memorial to the memory of 2,092 Commonwealth soldiers killed during the Battle of Normandy and who have not received burial.
