Battles of Champagne: In the village of Sommepy-Tahure are preserved relics from the ruins of five destroyed five villages of the red zone of Champagne (Tahure, Mesnil-les-Hurlus, Perthes-les-Hurlus, Ripont, Hurlus) that were not rebuilt after the war. Remains of these ancient villages are now part of the military camp of Suippes and are only accessible once every two years, beginning in September, on the occasion of Remembrance Day organized by the military authorities of the camp.
