Battle of the Somme: Destroyed village of Fay. The remains of the old church and a farm in the village of Fay was recently restored. The immediate vicinity of the village have been shaken by the bloody war of mines in 1915. Located on the first line, the village of Fay is removed fought by French troops on 1 July 1916. Nestled at the bottom before the war of a dry valley and hillside, the village has been rebuilt a few hundred meters to the east of the plateau. Depending on the season, the remains of the village are visible in plowed fields (bricks, tiles ...).
