Located in the steppes of Butana, 120 km southwest of Meroe and 20 km of Mussawarat, Naga is one of the most beautiful Meroitic sites. Close to a major city (not excavated), the temple of Apedemak (or Temple of the Lion), built by King Natakamani the first century AD.
